If you are taking Spanish classes at AMAUTA-Elebaires in Argentina, you will study in the beautiful, architectural building “Palacio Barolo”, which is situated on Avenida de Mayo, a very large and busy street with many shops, cafes and restaurants. Learning Spanish can be very intensive and at the end of the Spanish class you will probably feel hungry too because it will already be 1 p.m. What better to do than head to a nice place for lunch, to fill your little tummy? Below you will find the 3 best lunch places to go in the city center of Buenos Aires, all close to our Spanish School.
- If you like buffets…
El Chino “Todo Rico” – Avenida de Mayo 1354
The perfect place for students who like to eat variedly; there is plenty of choice from all kinds of food. If you would like to eat healthy, you can prepare your own salad, if you like meat with pasta, you can choose to eat this and if you are more on the diet tour you can choose to eat fruit. The perfect feature about the chino is that it is a buffet, so you can choose your favorite food or meal and you can mix different food combinations. Bonus point: the food is very cheap!
- If you like pizzas and empanadas…
La Continental – Avenida de Mayo 1389
This place is perfect if you are craving for a “fat” lunch. The pizzas are delicious, my personal favorite is the jamon y queso (ham and cheese), as well as the empanadas, with my personal favorite being the carne (meat) empanada. It is a popular place during lunch time, so be sure to head there on time to avoid long waiting queues.
- If you like sandwiches…
Sandwicheria San Jose – San Jose 20
This is the perfect place for every student who loves good sandwiches. They have a very broad range of choice, from ham and cheese to tuna and salad. Moreover, the sandwiches are cheap and you will get free sauce with your sandwich. The only downside to this place is that you cannot sit down to eat it. Luckily, the beautiful plaza Lorea is just around the corner, so you can eat your sandwich in this beautiful park while enjoying the sun (and your sandwich!).
Hopefully these 3 places will satisfy your hungry tummy. At least I know they have happily filled mine 🙂
